Consultation on proposals to change the UK’s copyright system
The IPFF, together with the ITTT and BILETA, will be preparing a collaborative response to the IPO consultation on proposals to change the UK’s copyright system following the Hargreaves Review of IP and growth and the Government’s response to the review. The consultation period is from 14 December 2011 to 21 March 2012.

Opposition to copyright term extension for sound recordings.

SCRIPT and its co-directors and associates were pleased to support the
open letter of 16 June 2008 to Charlie McCreevy opposing the copyright
term extension for sound recordings, the joint academic statement on the
evidence "Copyright Stifled? - Why copyright term extension for sound
recordings is a very bad idea" and the further joint open academic
statement sent to Members of the European Parliament on 27 October 2008.
These were co-ordinated and drafted by Professor Martin Kretschmer of
the Centre for Intellectual Property Policy and Management at
Bournemouth University. The documents and further information are
